Did you know that one bite of a Death Cama can put someone into a coma?

Or that eating enough Cocklebur seeds could kill you?

This book is about common plants that you may never want to see again. some cause death, and others may just annoy you, but they all will scare you half to death.

Many of these plants have not been heard of, or some of you have actually touched one without knowing about it, but they are what they are and you can’t blame them now for what they did or didn’t do before. They were made that way and can’t be changed. You may live in a cornner the rest of your life, but this book will show you how to survive in the wild or even in your backyard, so if see one of these plants know not to eat it and just walk away.

Xanthium is a very dangerous herb that has many different symptoms. It is a part of the Daisy family and has a common name of Cocklebur. Fortunately this greenery are only found in southern Cannada. They are Specifically found in fields, waste places, food plains, and sea beaches. Luckley, animals are the only victoms of this cursed plant. Although this plant may seem useless, its not. This plant is actually used for making yellow dye and has edible plant juices.

Obviously digesting the seeds will cause you many problems because of this plant’s poisonous features. These problems include Anorexia, Convulsions, depression, dyspnea, muscle weakness, nausea, opisthotonos, spasmic running motions and to no surprise, DEATH. Sadly enough, many of these symptoms have been shown from experimented mice and the fact that the bird that feed on these seeds (Carolina Parakeet) are now extinct. These unique symptoms also occur in a matter of hours, so if you experience a few of these; you should a) take your retirement money and spend it on your funeral, or b) check with your doctor quickly because you will only have about 3 more days to live.

Pigs are actually one of the only animals effected by the Xanthium, but it is mostly because they eat anything thats in their sight. Pigs also get a special symptom of abdominal pains that make them easier to kill, and if a hunter were to kill a poisoned pig, the hunter would get poisoned. This is a major problem because it could spread a virus. Surprisingly, other animals know of the plant and purposly aviod it. People don’t know how this happened so pigs were left out on the secret, but we are lucky only pigs are infected because thats not the case for some of these other plants.

Veratrum Viride may be a weird name and being in the lily family might make it sound weak, but that doesn’t mean anything. It is found in Alberta, British Columbia, Labrador, New Brunswick, Northwest Territories, Quebec, Yukon. Viride grows mainly in swamps, low wet places, meadows, pastures, and open woods. Effecting any living thing around it makes this plant very dangerous. Dangerously enough, this is caused by the whole plant being poisonous and people not knowing that this specific plant is still poisonous to everything, but sheep, after its dead.

The Veratrum Viride has some very negative affects including a high risk of death, salivation, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pains, prostration, depressed heart actions, general paralysis, spasms, dyspnea, abdominal pains, temperary blindness, and a lowered heart rate. Having all these symptoms causes this plant to be classified as dangerous on any list and not just on mine. Horses have been reported for dying after being seen eating one of these plants the most. People are infected to, but kids are mainly the only human victoms.

Being called pests by farmers makes this unique plant hated by most people, but surprisingly, it can be bought online fo 10$. Whats really weird is that people lie and don’t mention the fact that it is poisonous. This proves that people don’t care about our saftey but only themselfves.

Veratrum Viride

Zigadenus Venenosus also known as death camas is a very interesting plant. it is a part of lily family and is found in Alberta, British columbia, and Saskatchewan. Unfortunatly, this plant effects everyone because of its power to infect its own pollon! This also causes bees to die and slow down the honey process. Plus, many people and animals mistake it for an onion plant making them intoxixate themselfs without knowing it.

Being named the most toxic plant in the summer time, Zigadenus is very very dangerous plant. It causes pupil dilation, drowsiness, incoordination, comas, shallow breathing, low blood pressure, diarrhea, depression, colic, trembling, salivation, prostration, nausea, dyspnea, ataxia, and death. Being able to spread itself so widely and having nasty effects makes choosing a most deadly plant easy. Although this plant is very deadly, it is awesome in my mind and many others.

Bees seem to be greatly affected by these plants, but surprisngly, just like the Xanthium, bees aviod this plant. Unlike the Xanthium, they do not avoid this plant on purpose, but because they are not attracted to it. Its symptoms also occur in minutes so bees don’t find out what is happening to their friends and family. Bees don’t like these plants because of the pattern they make and the necter they produce.

Zigadenus Venenosus

Zigadenus Elegans Pursh or White Cama, a normal looking plant, has a very harsh adittitude. It is a part of the Lily family and is found in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Newbrunswick, Northwest Territories, Ontario, Quebec, and Saskatchewan. This plant was also found to be pulled out of the ground by Native Americans because of their disgust for this abomination of a plant. Instead of only animals being effected, everyone is effected because of its ability to trick us into thinking its like a pretty and harmless plant, but its not.

All of the White Cama is poisonous accept the pollon or nectur. This plant kills by its harmless looks. After eating about half a pound of this plant it will cause thirst, headaches, vomiting and loss of muscle control leading to heart failure, collapsing into a coma and death. Spine-chillingly enough, White camas may have been to blame for the illnesses that effected the Lewis and Clark Expedition in 1805.The reason they ate the horrific plant in the first place, was that they mistaked it with a harmless cousin and didn’t know that the White Cama could look like its cousin while in the middle of blooming.

Zigadenus elegans pursh is about 20 to 60cm tall and can be easily identified by its waxy-white petals. An interesting way to tell if the plant you find is a White Cama or Death Cama is to compare the sizes because of the fact that the White Cama is a very tall flower. Each of these flowers have 6 loose to clustered leaves at the top of its smooth stem. each leave is about 18cm and can vary to sharp, or all the way to dull.

Zigadenus Elegans Pursh

Vicia Villasa Roth or Hairy Vetch is part of the pea family and has no friendy intents. It can be found in British Columbia, Manitoba, Nova Scotia, Ontario, and Quebec. Luckly, it only effects livestock, but still gets us in many ways. One of them is that it kills our food source, but surprisingly, it helps it to because of it being used for many organic purposes. The main reason farmers us them is because if allowed to grow enough, it will add more nitrogen into the ground and other plants.

The poisonous side of this plant is a little helpful but still effective. For instance, it has to be ingested to cause side effects. This may be good for farmers, but the actual chemical that causes the poionous feel is yet to be identfied. Unfortunatly, if we dont no the chemical, we can’t make a cure to help people who eat it by accident. With that said, this plant causes anexia, labored breathing, rough and dry throat, conjunctivities, convulsions, pain, pneumonitis, peeling of skin, weakness, weight loss, and death.

Hairy Vetch is used in many gardens and is somewhat cheap to buy. Buying 25 pounds of it will only cost about $90 and they sell it almost everywhere. Now that I’ve said that you probably remember seeing one at the farmer’s market. It also attracts bees and other helpful insects during the spring, but if you think thats a good thing, your wrong. It will only help if your a farmer because if not, then the insects may ruin your daily life.

Vicia Villasa Roth

Ranunculus Sceleratus has a common name of a celery leaved buttercup and looks just like it sounds. It is a part of the Crowfoot family and is found in Alberta, British Columbia, Labrador, Manitoba, Newfoundland, Northwest Territories, Ontario, Quebec, Saskatchewan, Yukon, and Pensylvannia. It can specifically be found in moist or dry woods, marshes, ditch banks, or swampy meadows.
The leaves and plant juices are toxic and cause a few symptoms. They are abdominal pains, blindness, constipation, diarrhea, unsteady gut, mouth irritation, salivation, and death. It may seem that they are not bad because of how little there are, but this horrendous plant has the most deadly symptoms. Again, this one only effects animals, but still, it has to be on this list beacause of its shortage of pointless symptoms.

Celery leaved buttercup is a short plant with yellow petals. It does not have a hairy stem like the Hairy Vetch and is 20-50cm tall. They have very small fruits that are about 1mm long and look pimple like. The stem has numerous alternate leaves on its stem that are divided more. The leaves are 2-5cm long and cover any exposed parts of the top of the stem. It is mainly found in clusters on the ground.

Ranunculus Sceleratus

Brissica Campestris has a very interesting common name. Having a common name of Bird Rape may seem very akward and is in many ways. You would think that it attacks birds or something like that, but it doesn’t. It mainly attacks livestock like most other plants. Besides that, it is part of the Mustard family and is found almost anywhere in Canada. The Mustard family sounds unrealistic, but is pretty easy to guess what it means.

This is a very common plant in Canada, but only cattle, sheep, and swine get poisoned. Plus it is frequently mixed up with a barbarea, a regular and harmless plant. With this already said, it causes pain, salivation, diarrhea, digestive disturbances, and irratation in the mouth. Fortunatly and unfortunatly it does not cause death, but only long time torture.

The one and only Bird Rape has Smooth, stalkless leaves with enlarged bases. It also has long flower stalks that are 2-4cm long or longer. Surprisingly, only the top of this tall plant has yellow leaves and the bottom has green. This crazy plant is not found in clusters but in singles. Despite the weird name, this plant is dangerous in many ways.

Brissica Campestris

Acer Rubrum is all about color. Rubrum even means red. It has a common name of “Red Maple” and is a part of the maple family. It can be found in New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, and Quebec. It will also mostly be found in swamps and moist uplands. Luckly, it is found in few places, but you still must watch out for this devastating plant.

Fortunatly, this frightful plant only effects horses and ponies at first sight. If you were to digest enough leaves, you may experince anorexia, brownish blood, rapid breathing, comas, dehadration, depression, conjection of lungs, weakness, brownish urine, and death. Although it only effects horses and ponnies, you still must remeber that this causes difficult in farming, which can lead to many other difficulties in the future.

Red Maple is obvisously red and is not only a plant, but a tree! Unlike many other plants on this list only the leaves can be eaten so people don’t know of its poisonous abillities. This is also very important because many other trees look like it and it is very common. Amazingly though, it is at risk of extinction because of paper and other materials made of trees. Many people also like the look of maple floors inside of their house filled with beautiful maple leaves.

Acer Rubrum

Helenium Autumnale has a very funny name. With a common name of sneezeweed, this first sentence makes sense and much more. It is a part the daisy family and can be found in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Northwest Territories, Ontario, Quebec, and Saskatchewan. It can specifically be found in moist low ground, rich thickets, meadows, and shores. Although the cheesy name, this plant is nothing to mess with.

This plant will infect anyone that goes through its path with its devilish leaves and stem. If tampered with, you may experince labored breathing, convulsions, incoordination, frothing of the mouth, irritation in the nose, eyes, and stomach, and last but definatly not least, death. This plant is a major problem and will cause chaos in the future if scientists don’t find a way to stop its petrifying plans.

Interestingly enough, the reason why the amazing sneezeweed was named that way is because native americans used it to make snuff. They are covered in 2-3 inch flowers that rebloom in october. The flowers come in shades of gold, yellow, rust and mahogany. Surprisingly, they can grow up all the way to 5 feet tall and do it in any soil. Although, sneezeweed is a very scary plant, it is a very pretty addition to your garden.

Helenium Autumnale

Iris is an unmistakable plant. Also known as the blue flag Iris, it is part of the Iris family and can be found almost anywhere in British Columbia, Labrador, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Northwest Territories, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, and Saskatchewan. Even though this plant is found everywhere and is unmistakable, it can be very hard to spot.
Iris is a very interesting plant. Its poisonous parts are the Rhizome and only causes abdominal pains, nausea, vomiting, dyspnea, and irration. The only reason why it is on this list is because of its history. This plant has infected everything from rats to birds and  won’t be stoped. Surprisingly, people do not learn from this plant and don’t care about its poisonings. This can become an easy push to shove in the long run if we stop paying attention to our surroundings.

Iris can be classified as pretty because of its purple sword-like leaves and wonderful flowering stems. Irises vary in height from dwarf kinds, 6 to 8 inches high, to the tall kinds, 1 to 5 feet tall. The Iris flower is located on a tall stem and Irises generally form a lot of flowers on one single stem. Iris flowers can range from tiny to dramatic, eye-catching flowers. Even though these plants are pretty, you must never trust them.

Do you feel any differently about any of the plants on this list now that you know more about them? If you do, can think of reasons why? Maybe you should make your on list of plants you don’t like and think about why you chose them.
