People heard the KPCC story and

 

called to offer donations of

 

instruments and funds.  We received

 

enough flutes to have a flute class. 

 

Flute was one of the instruments

 

that LAUSD did not have.

transported our families with two

buses to its next evening concert

at the Ambassador Auditorium

in Pasadena

When we needed to rehearse two groups simultaneously Ms. Rowland called the LAUSD Musical Instrument Shop to ask to borrow a piano.  The supervisor, Mr. Rudy Saldivar had heard our story on KPCC.  Three weeks later

he surprised us with a reconditioned Winter grand!  The shop fixed it up just for us.

We received the most wonderful gift!

 

A baby grand piano, with free maintenance for life,

 

 

 

from LAUSD!

In the 2015-16 school year, we have received gifts worth $20,000, including the instruments, visiting artists, special trips and tickets, and piano, with LACO providing half of

the resources.

LACO sent two more buses and free tickets for our families to attend their last main concert of the season at the Alex Theatre in Glendale
